October 26–November 1, 2026
I just bought a business.
Now I'm juggling my consulting business, Velocity Generator, client responsibilities, and everything that comes with running both.
So I'm documenting what I actually do each day. The planned work, unexpected interruptions, context switching, and little tasks that somehow eat up an afternoon.
And I'm inviting you to look over my shoulder.
Free to follow. No homework. Nothing to submit.
This isn't another productivity challenge.
I'm not trying to cram more work into my day. I'm trying to figure out whether I'm doing the right work in the first place.
A time study focuses on how long things take.
A task study looks at what you're actually doing, the steps involved, and how often your attention gets pulled in different directions.
Because getting faster at something that doesn't need to be done isn't much of a win.
I've done public task studies before, and they've shown me things I would never have noticed otherwise.
You can quietly follow along as I update the Google Doc. Or grab a notebook and track your own tasks alongside me.
There's nothing to turn in and no expectation that you participate.
I'm curious what seven days of paying attention will reveal.
You're welcome to watch.
