📝 It's happening. My task study starts today.

Hey there, Reader,

Well, here we go.

Today I'm kicking off my third public task study.

For the next seven days, I'll be documenting what I actually do throughout my days.

Not what I planned to accomplish. Not what I wish I'd done.

What actually happens. And you're invited to watch.

Welcome to my very normal week.

I've said before that the best time to conduct a task study is during an average week.

Except I'm beginning to think my average week is a mythological creature 🦄

I'm running my consulting business and Velocity Generator, the membership I acquired earlier this month.

I'm a working homeschooling mom.

And I'm leading a major fundraiser this Saturday.

So naturally, this seemed like the perfect week to document everything. 😉

What exactly will you see?

I'll be updating a Google Doc throughout the week with the tasks that occupy my time and attention.

Client work. Business operations. Homeschooling. Volunteer commitments. The little interruptions that don't make it onto my calendar.

And probably a few things I haven't thought of yet.

This isn't about proving how busy I am or finding ways to squeeze more work into my day. Please don't read this as some humblebrag about how early I wake up or how much I get done in a day.

This isn't a competition.

It's about seeing what's actually happening so I can make better decisions about what deserves my attention.

Because getting faster at doing the wrong things isn't much of a win.

Come be nosy. 😄

I've opened the task study to anyone who wants to follow along, and I've already started logging activities today.

I'll share what I discover in next Monday's newsletter on November 2.

Will this turn out to be a light workweek? A chaotic one? Something in between?

I genuinely have no idea.

Which is exactly why I'm curious to see what happens.

In your corner,

Tonya

P.S. If you've ever wondered what a business strategist's actual days look like, this is your chance to find out. Fair warning: There may be more Zombie Run logistics than strategic planning. We'll see.
